Terms & conditions.
Last updated: 1 May 2026. The rules for using this website, publishing through JOWIM, and the responsibilities of authors, reviewers, and readers.
1. Acceptance
By accessing or using jowim.org (the "site") operated by the Department of Telecommunication Engineering at Politeknik Negeri Padang (the "publisher", "we", "us"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
2. Content licensing
Unless otherwise noted, all published articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International license (CC BY-SA 4.0). Authors retain copyright; readers and reusers are granted the rights described in the license text:
- To share — copy and redistribute the article in any medium or format.
- To adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the article for any purpose, even commercially.
- Under the conditions of attribution and share-alike.
Site layout, branding, original graphics, and the publisher's editorial content (front matter, editorials, calls for papers) are © the publisher and may not be reused without permission. The full license text is at creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0.
3. Use of the site
You agree to use the site lawfully and respectfully. Specifically, you agree not to:
- Submit content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, or that infringes any third-party rights.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, other accounts, or computer systems connected to the site.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the site, or breach any security or authentication measures.
- Use the site to distribute malware, spam, or unsolicited communications.
- Scrape, mirror, or republish the site as a whole without written permission from the publisher.
4. User accounts
The author cabinet is currently a demonstration feature. Account credentials are stored in your own browser's localStorage only; the publisher does not have access to them. You are responsible for keeping your device secure and for clearing your account when you no longer wish to use the cabinet.
When production authentication is deployed, additional terms will apply to user accounts, including rules on credential security, prohibited uses, and account termination. Those terms will be published here before the production system goes live.
5. Submissions and authorship
By submitting a manuscript to JOWIM, the corresponding author confirms, on behalf of all co-authors, that:
- The manuscript is original work that has not been published elsewhere and is not under consideration by another journal.
- All co-authors have approved the submitted version and have agreed to its publication under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license on acceptance.
- The work complies with the journal's publication ethics policy, including disclosure of conflicts of interest and sources of funding.
- Any third-party material included in the manuscript is licensed for reuse or has been used with permission.
The publisher reserves the right to reject, return for revision, or retract any manuscript that does not meet these criteria, in accordance with the journal's editorial policies.
6. Peer review
Peer review at JOWIM is double-blind. Reviewers agree to keep submitted manuscripts confidential, to provide objective and evidence-based assessments, and to disclose conflicts of interest before accepting a review invitation. Reviewer identities are not publicly disclosed without the reviewer's consent.
7. Third-party services
The site uses the following third-party services:
- Google Fonts. Loaded from Google's CDN. Google may receive your IP address when the font files are requested.
- Formspree. Form submissions are delivered to Formspree for forwarding to the editorial office. Formspree's terms of service apply: formspree.io/legal/terms-of-service.
The publisher is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of these third-party services. Your use of them is at your own discretion and subject to their respective terms.
8. Disclaimer
The site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available". The publisher makes no warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy of content. The publisher does not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the publisher shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the site, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, even if the publisher has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the publisher, its officers, employees, and editorial board from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these terms or your use of the site.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Padang, West Sumatra, Indonesia, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under the law of your habitual residence.
12. Changes to these terms
The publisher may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the journal's home page and recorded in the version history below. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
13. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent to the editorial office at jowim@pnp.ac.id.
